Recently, I took a walk from Lasalle to Verdun in with my bugg dog, Hendrix. It has been a surprisingly warm winter, as you can tell from some of the photos of the unfrozen St. Lawrence river. For an idea of how frozen the ice usually is around this time, you can have a look at my "On the Ice" collection of photos from the 'documentary' section of my site. This particular day however, was quite windy and chilly. The sun shone through the frosty, hazy clouds with a thin, dreamy quality. The best part of this walk for me though, aside from the amazing light, was how I was able to let my young pup off the leash and let him bolt along the boardwalk with sheer joy, and him responding to my every command. Good boy!
